On every single college tour we participate in, we are told “Your numbers do not define you.” Raise your hand if you think that’s the absolute truth.
Anyone?
<crickets>
Until the day that this is the absolute truth, its best to hedge our bets and get a number that reflects who you are.
SAT Accelerate is an 8-week program personalized to the client to help them gain the confidence and skills they need to earn their desired SAT score. I combine my ICF coaching techniques, experience as a mentor and my training as a Ph. D. to help the client develop their best strategies for them to beat this test.
For most college-bound students, doing well on the SAT is not about knowing the material. They actually know (or have a rusty recall) of the material. Its about developing the “work smarter, not harder” mindset so that it is second nature and can be done in a timed setting. That takes practice, reflection and accountability. Those are the cornerstones of this program.
SAT Accelerate personalized 8-week program includes:
- Personalized SAT strategies
- 8 1-hour one-on-one sessions
- Mid-week check-ins
- CollegeBoard level practice
- Accountability
- In-between session support
The CollegeBoard is (planning on) offering the SAT starting August 29, 2020 with numerous offerings all fall. My experience shows it takes 8 weeks to develop the momentum to really hit the SAT at your best. That’s why now is the time to secure your spot in this personalized program.
Program Details
Each week includes 1 hour of one-on-one meeting to discuss and work through SAT specific strategies that are tailored to the client. Between sessions, the client works on specific “homework” and practice exercises to develop their understanding and test-taking endurance. The coach provides external accountability via a mid-week check-in and will be available to answer questions that arise between sessions.
Program Expectations
I cannot give or guarantee you the SAT score you desire. Like any sport or discipline, doing well on the SAT requires consistent practice and reflection. That part is on you. What I will give you are the tools and techniques combined with a unique partnership, support, and accountability. The expectations for you are that you attend the weekly one-on-one meetings with the energy to fully participate and put in the time outside of our sessions to practice what we agreed upon.
Program Requirements
Let’s face it, its best to go to the source. I use Kahn Academy and a College Board SAT prep book for the actual study material. You will need to aquire access to both and a notebook for your reflections. If we are meeting virtually, you will need robust enough internet connection to support our sessions.
Program Cost
The program is offered at a non-prorated fee ($350, not counting the expense of purchasing the SAT prep book). I reserve slots for clients where this is amount is an economic hardship. If you would like to participate and cannot afford this amount, please submit a letter from your school counselor indicating this.
